Paracord Bracelets

With life always getting busier, papercrafting was put on the back burner, and I started making more jewelry and the likes because you can whip up a pair of earrings in 5 mns...

One of the things I got into was Paracord bracelets. They're fun to make, some can be more challenging than others, and while you're trying to figure out those knots, you are not thinking about the knots in your head!... ;-)

If you are into Essential Oils, paracord bracelets can be used as "diffusers". Basically you just add 1 or 2 drops on the bracelet (on the outside, not the side that touches the skin) and you can smell it all day as needed.

If you find paracord too bulky or masculine, you can try adding beads to your knotting, or use the same knotting technique with leather or suede cords.

To add diversity you can use metal loops and clasps instead of the more traditional plastic buckles. Just keep in mind that this will add a little bulk but also quite some weigth...

If you're not into bracelets there are tutorials for all kind of things on youtube...

One of my favorite pattern, the shark tooth.

This one is the snake knot, it is used in China to bring Good Luck (in this case to whoever makes the bracelet and whomever you give it to...)

You can find paracord and buckles at Walmart, craft stores like Joann's and Michaels, or on Amazon

Below are my 2 favorite Youtube channels for paracord tutorials:

Have fun!... ;-)

Time flies, even when you're not having fun... ;-)

I was aware it had been a long time since I last updated my blog... But I didn't realize it had been over a year!... *gasp* Life has been busy, and papercrafting was relegated to the back burner when I decided to start exercising more seriously again... :-/
Over the last year my creative outlet has been making jewelry. Let's face it, it takes less time to make a pair of earrings than a card sometimes. I think I also needed to take a break from some stuff related to papercrafting, or maybe it's just that I lost my mojo, and let the clutter on my desk take over... >.<
I hope I'll get back to it at some point, I miss it...
But it is what it is, and I am finally learning to take life one day at a time...
So we'll just have to see what tomorrow brings... :-)

Paris Washi...

If you love Washi tape like I do, but are sometimes wondering what to do with it other than putting accents here and there, here is a way to play with it... Basically you just cover your card with pieces of Washi in different sizes and directions. I had so much fun with this that I even did the back of the card... ;-)
And no I am not missing Paris and France... ;-) *sigh*

Felt Birthday Birds

I love having details on a card that beg to be touched... felt birds will do just that in my opinion... ;-)

Baby Blue

Simple baby card with paper piecing. This technique never gets old... :-)

Cloth accent Birthday card

My son's teachers are having their birthdays this week, so I made them this card for the parents of the class to sign. I made 2 of the same because I was too tired to find inspiration for 2 cards (my mojo should be ashamed... >.<)
The idea to stamp on cloth came from my sweet friend Thienly from Mod Paperie. She has been on a cloth and burlap kick for a while now and I love the introduction of a different texture! :-)
The little heart tag is free floating, just held by the pin.

Butterfly Birthday

A simple card I made recently where the paper does all the talking. Only had to add an (heat) embossed sentiment and that was it... :-)
