Vintage Floral Tin

I made another little tin with Trendy Twine around it. I think by now the recipient must have received it so I can share... ;-)

I used double side Tacky tape so the twine will stay in place securely... I used Chocolate Truffle and Strawberry Cupcake, since my recipient's favorite twine color is pink... :-)

Everyone should have a cute little tin like that to leave on their desk to hold paperclips and what-nots!... :-)

Inside I used some more paper from the same pad. I especially love this one.

Those little chocolates feel right at home in there... It looks like it was meant to be!... ;-D

And good news: Annie's Paper Boutique now carries those little tins too! You can find them here. They are really fun and easy to work with and make nice little gifts. :-)

Trendy Twine Tuesday: Sweet forrest tin

It's TTT! Trendy Twine Tuesday... and this time I made a little tin for my sweet friend Bee and used Trendy Twine in place of ribbon to cover the sides of the tin. The paper is from the Country Drive collection by Echo Park.

Sorry for the pictures' overload but I want to show you from every angle... ;-)

I used Peppermint Stick Trendy Twine for the lid, and Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine for the bottom.

I love the sort of "rustic" look, and I think it feels wonderful also when you hold the tin in your hand.
I used Terrifically Tacky Tape to hold the twine in place and it was really easy and this twine ain't going anywhere. ;-)

I covered the inside with more paper, and put little crafting goodies in mini zip bags that I decorated with mini twine bows....

And to finish it off, I wrapped it up like a big candy... :-)

Toothfairy Tin

My niece just turned 5, and I expect she will lose teeth soon... so I made her a little toothfairy box to put under her pillow... I made a little "cup" for her tooth with a prima flower and added a little pocket to leave messages to the toothfairy... I used Melanie's tins stamps set and drew the tooth by hand. I think she'll have fun with that... ;-)

This is the other project for my niece Laura. There is also a little scrapbook album with pictures from her visit in Florida last summer but as you can see I am slightly behind, so that one won't make it on time for her b-day!... :-(

For the tin I used the same model than the one I made for Naomi months ago (http://dare2beecreative.blogspot.com/2008/04/message-tin.html) , with Melanie's stamps sets "What's in your tin 1 & 2".

Since my niece is only turning 4, and her Mom told me she loves little boxes of all kind and can carry them around all day, I decided to stick with a flat design (no flowers or raised embellishments on the top) this way it is also easier to slip them in a little bag without damaging anything! This time also, I added a layer of Contact paper (self-adhesive transparent paper) on the top and the bottom, that way the ink won't run and the paper won't get scratched.

The inside is pretty much identical to Naomi's tin: Mini Post-it notes and little gel pens, so she can leave little notes all around the house! :-D... The little heart is a paper clip.

Message tin

I finally got to make my 1st tin with Melanie's stamp sets!... :-)

I love those little tins and I love Post-Its...so I wanted to combine the 2... My daughter always steals my post-its and leaves little notes everywhere, so I made her a little "Message tin" with tiny post-its and little gel pens...

Now I just need one of those for myself! :-)

ETA: The alphabet I used to write Naomi is an acrylic set by Martha Stewart (at Michaels) called "sans serif, typeface". It's great because you get several of each letter in uppercase and lowercase (and several numbers too), + a few symbols, and it costs about $12.

Mommy & Me tins

Waow, my 1st project for March? I can't believe it...

The last 2 weeks are actually a blur of sickness for the whole family, and stress, and heartbreaking loss... :-(

Sometimes bad things just decide to pile on you all at the same time...

As much as stamping therapy was needed, it just wasn't an option at the time...

So I'm back (hopefully on track!) and wanted to share those "Mommy & Me" little tins....

I needed a box to send a glass pendant to my sister-in-law, and I thought it would be fun to decorate a tin a little and make a perfect mini copy for my (3 1/2 years old) niece.

The big tin is from oriental trading and is a little bigger than an Altoids tin. The little one is from PaperTrey Ink, I just adore those, I bought a few to make little teeth boxes, tiny treasures boxes, etc... The papers and ribbon are from Target. You can't see in the pics but I doodled with my gel pens in the middle of the flowers, it's a pretty little shiny effect in real life... The colors are a little off (especially the table under them), but I took the pics at night just before shoving them in a padded envelope, and they're on their way to the post office (if hubby doesn't forget! ;-)) so no re-do! :-)

I think my niece will be really excited when she sees she has the exact same as her mom! ;-)

In hers is a little accordion of paper that my daughter decorated with her drawings.
