Wedding cut-out card
I made this card for my husband's cousin's wedding, using Lettering Delights SVG files. The front of the card is cut-out, I added some white cardstock inside for more contrast. The choice of colors comes from the fact that orange is the bride's favorite color and was used in their wedding's invitations.
This is one of those cards that doesn't photograph well at all (yes, my photographic skills also need serious improvement, if only there was 36 hours in a day...), especially since it needs to stay flat and keeps popping open... ;-)
When I was making the card, it looked to me like a floral cut-out card... but when I was snapping pictures I started seeing some sort of weird monster with orange eyes, pointy ears, and an open mouth, coming out from behind a floral panel... LOL Can you see it too? ;-P
This 2nd part is a little giftcard holder to go with it.

Teacher's giftcard holders
Not really any time for papercrafts lately...but it was the end of year and its inevitable teacher's gifts. I have to say I go the easy route. Amazon gift cards seem like the way to go, that way I am pretty sure everyone can find something they like. So I just made very simple holders with their names on it. I wanted to avoid stamping on it, aside from the name (used JustRite Stampers for that), so that they can re-use it if they want, as a little card holder (I'm sure I'm not the only one giving them giftcards! ;-)) or even to put wallet size pics. It's really nothing complicated or impressive but making that kind of little things make me happy!... :-)
That's what papercrafting is all about... :-)

Birthday bow
A birthday giftcard-holder for one of my son's teachers, to be used by the class. I wanted it to look like a gift box and unwrap like one, so I played around a little bit... :-)
One of the panels is glued to form the gift-card pocket (after being embossed with my cuttlebug), the opposite panel folds over it and is used for us all to sign the card, and the top and bottom (embossed with a diferent pattern) actually form the "gift". The ribbon wraps all around the card, just like it would around a gift box.

Birthday gift-card holder
With the "new (little) man in my life", there just hasn't been time for scrapbooking or making cards!... But one of Noah's teacher's birthday is coming up so that gave me an excuse to make a gift-card holder for the class to give here. Obviously I went with simple and old design, things have to be fast these days! ;-)
(And sorry I took the pics at night so the colors are off...)
I will find the time to scrap and make cards again one day, before he enters kindergarten, right? Right?...
Now back to thank you cards and birth announcements...

Mini briefcase gift-card holders
I made those little briefcase gift-card holders for Noah's teachers and therapist. They were fun and easy to make, no need for a template or anything. They are closed with velcro, and I just stamped and wrote my little message in there instead of making a card.
The inside is pretty much the same for all 3, I just colored the cat in different colors.. :-)
The only problem is I discovered when I uploaded the pics, that the Prismacolor markers bled through the cardstock and made stains on the front of the light blue holder! :-( Luckily the paper has kind of an uneven color pattern so it almost looks like it's part of the paper pattern!... Phew...
Wouldn't those look cute hanging in a Christmas tree with little name tags attached to the handle?...

Quick gift-card holder
I told you the mojo took a vacation, he isn't back yet, but I had to make a quick birthday gift-card holder for one of Noah's teacher, in behalf of the class (the moms, I should say! ;-)). It's a simple tri-fold, the moms will sign on the right part, the left part is stamped with happy birthday and the middle part holds the gift-card.

Teacher's wallets
It's the end of the year again! So for me that means gift-cards for teachers, and trying out new gift-cards holders... :-P
I made 4 of those little wallets, following the W model found on Lee's and Melanie's blogs (among others ;-)). I used those papers (gift wraps from Borders!) that I love so much for the outside, and for the inside I used different plain colored carstocks that I ran through the Cuttlebug Paisley embossing folder (it's hard to see on the pic unless you click on it to enlarge). This is my little twist, as I find it more sturdy with 2 layers instead of 1. For closure I inserted 2 ribbons between my 2 layers.
I wanted this to be as flat as possible and with no embellishments so that they can carry this easily in their bags (and it won't get damaged) and I didn't write inside either so they can customize it with the pics of their choice (or re-gift it!! --> the horror!... ;-)). Instead I wrote a little note on a minicard the size of the gift card.
My favorite thing about those holders is the texture inside, so cool! :-)
This is the perfect size to carry around those wallet size pictures.... I might have to make one for myself to carry around pics of my cuties! :-)

3 fold b-day gift-card holder
Next week or so is the birthday of one of Noah's teachers, all the parents (there's only 8 kids in class) participate in a gift card, and I offered to make the b-day card.
I made a simple tri-fold card and glued a little pocket in the middle (embossed with a cuttlebug folder) to hold the gift card (with a little slit to hold it in place). I also glued some white paper inside so we can all sign the card. It's hard to see on the pic, but the pink sign on the card also is embossed with happy birthday, I debated for a long time whether to put it or not but it looked empty without it.... I didn't have tiny magnets so I closed it with velcro! :-) Of course there are Stickles on the cupcake.. ;-)
Obviously the colors of the pic (inside) are off, that's because I took it at night...
I really love the colors of this paper and the brown together but I kept doing things wrong with this card, I glued the paper upside down in the back of the card, didn't cut straight here and there etc... It was one of those simple projects that end up taking more time than they should ;-)
But I love it and it is for a special person so it was worth the time.

Gift-card wallets
Following (somewhat) Lauren's directions (that can be found here : http://laurenm.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2007/11/17/gift-card-holder-wallet/) I made an attempt at tiny gift-card holders...
I changed it slightly to my liking, gluing the pocket the opposite way so that the gift-card cannot get out of the pocket and making the bottom fold less wide.
The little decorative band inside is there to protect the fingers from the back of my eyelets which turned out to be pretty sharp...
I think I'll use those for my son's teachers. I love that thin cardstock from Cosmo Crickett and it is double sided, so perfect ;-) ...

Gift-card holder
My 1st gift-card holder, inspired by Erika's tutorial (http://stampinmama.typepad.com/stampin_mama_a_mama_that_/files/thank_you_issue.pdf) Yes, I still don't know how to put links under a cut, sorry!!!......
The only think I knew when I started was that I wanted to use this dark blue paper (blue is my favorite color and the baby is a boy) and the sweet pea stamp (huh, I don't have any other baby stamp actually, but this one is so darn cute anyway!...).
Instead of an enveloppe I wanted to use the same paper inside that I had used under the pea, of course I didn't cut it right (twice, LOL!!) so I ended up with a pocket much shorter than planned but it still works OK.
I wish I had had double-sided paper, it would have been perfect, but of course I didn't have any!....I used a little bit of the same paper to make a little card that I will slide in there with the gift card after adding a few words.
Mazel Tov means "congratulations" in hebrew.
The top of the card slide behind the pea picture and that's what holds it into place. I mounted my pea and leave on pop-a-dots, and also the pea frame (the green one).
It took me forever because it was the 1st time I made this (and because I screwed up with cutting the paper) but I'm sure it will be much faster next time ;-)
I wanted something very simple and not overdone and I must admit I am quite pleased with the result...but I am partial to that cute stamp anyway!... :-)
